APA Carbon Challenge

LEAF Architecture is excited to be among the winners in the APA Carbon Challenge: Providence, RI.

We were awarded for " The Best Use of Wood" for a design that reduced the concrete (a carbon intensive material) in the basement by raising the house to the heght limits of the site, and that used a double stud exterior wall nearly a foot thick filled with dense packed cellulose insulation.  This wall maximized the efficiency of the thermal performance of the exterior wall, reducing the operating heating and cooling costs, reducing the carbon impact of the limetime of the house.
